Wine Tour in Wachau Valley
(8 hours, by hired minivan with driver, max. 6 persons, 1000 EUR)

This private wine tour is suitable for travelers interested in experiencing the picturesque landscape of the Wachau Valley and in tasting the Grüner Veltliner, produced there.

The Wachau Cultural Landscape is inscribed in the UNESCO List of World Heritage Sites. It is a cultural landscape between the cities Melk and Krems on the river Danube, one hour and a half driving from Vienna. It is a well-known wine producing region, mainly for white wines of the grape variety Grüner Veltliner, typical for Austria.

On this trip by sedan or minivan with a private driver and a private guide, expect to see a beautiful and cultivated landscape of vineyards on terraces, orchards and castles along the river Danube. I suggest a guided visit to the monastery Stift Melk, one of the most significant baroque buildings in Austria with its splendidly decorated church and its particularly noteworthy library.
Follows wine tasting (and lunch) at a wine producer and/or a vinothek in Spitz or Weissenkirchen and in the charming Dürnstein.

Expenses for the visit to Stift Melk (14 EUR/person), wine tasting (6-25 EUR/person) and lunch (15-30 EUR/person) are not included.

Variations of this itinerary are possible upon agreement. If you are interested in a particular wine producer of the region, I would make arrangements for wine tasting.
